The Ministry of Railways, through Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), has officially released the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 09/2025. This massive recruitment drive is for various Level-1 posts (under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix) across multiple railway zones in India.

Vacancy Overview
* Total Vacancies: 22,195
* Initial Pay: ₹18,000 plus allowances as per Level 1 of the 7th CPC
* Positions Include: Assistant Bridge, Assistant Carriage and Wagon, Assistant Operations, Assistant TRD Electrical, and more.

 

Eligibility Criteria
* Age Limit: 18 to 33 years (as of January 1, 2026). Standard age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories.
* Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess the prescribed qualifications (such as Matriculation/ITI/CCAA) from a recognized board or institute by the closing date (March 2, 2026).
* Medical Standards: Candidates must meet specific vision and physical fitness standards (e.g., A2, A3) depending on the post selected.

 

Selection Process
The recruitment will be conducted in the following stages:
* Computer Based Test (CBT): A single-stage exam (the railway reserves the right to hold multi-stage CBTs if needed). There is negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer.
* Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates are shortlisted for PET at a rate of three times the vacancies.
* Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination: Final shortlisting is done at a 1:1 ratio based on CBT merit and PET qualification.


Examination Fee
* General/OBC Candidates: ₹500 (₹400 is refundable after appearing in the CBT).
* SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Female/Minorities/EBC: ₹250 (Full amount refundable after appearing in the CBT).


How to Apply
Applications must be submitted ONLINE ONLY through the official RRB websites.
* One RRB Policy: Candidates can only apply to one RRB/Railway Zone. Submitting multiple applications will lead to rejection.
* Account Creation: If you have an existing account from 2024/2025 RRB notifications, you must use the same credentials to log in.
* Live Photo: Candidates are required to capture and upload a live image during the application process.
