Selection Procedure – Part 1
(a) First, the Indian Navy will shortlist applications based on the normalized marks that candidates obtain in their qualifying degree. Specifically, the Indian Navy will normalize these marks using the formulae mentioned on the Join Indian Navy website (URL: https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf).
(b) Moreover, for candidates who have completed or are in their final year of BE/B.Tech, the Indian Navy will consider the marks obtained up to the fifth semester for SSB shortlisting.
(c) In addition, for candidates who have completed an MSc, MCA, MBA, or M.Tech, the Indian Navy will consider the marks obtained in all semesters. Conversely, for candidates in their final year, the Indian Navy will base shortlisting on pre-final year performance.
(d) Furthermore, candidates who appear in the final merit list must submit proof of completing their qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks by emailing officer@navy.gov.in. Consequently, the Indian Navy will not permit candidates who fail to meet this criterion to join the Academy.
